Sonic Forces Reviews – What The Games Critics Are Saying

Sonic Forces

Sonic Forces was released today in most territories except Japan (sorry guys, you have to wait until the 9th!) and reviews have begun to come in for the latest addition to the Sonic franchise. Unfortunately, these reviews have been tricky to hunt down, as Sonic Forces had an embargo set on it until today, its launch day, and so critics have only just begun to release their reviews online.

Reviews for the new game have been mixed at best, with many reviewers saying that Sonic Forces doesn’t hold up with other games in the Sonic franchise. However, some reviewers have praised the character customisation and colourful visuals that Sonic Forces offers players.

Below you can find a selection of the reviews that have been released so far, to help you make your mind up about our favourite hedgehog’s latest adventure:

TSSZ NEWS: 2/5

Sonic Forces is not a subpar game because Mania exists; it is subpar because it wrongly puts its message before its experience, leaving players to pay the ultimate sacrifice of cheap deaths over and over again in an unsatisfying product that had hints of so much promise.

JAPANESE NINTENDO (famitsu): 35/40

For the Classic Sonic [fan], being able to use the Dash that originated from Sonic Mania is also nice.

LANSYN: (No overall score given)

A whole 40 euros for just four hours of gameplay are simply not acceptable for the casual gamer.*
