CS Go Gambling

Twitch has revealed that they have updated their rules regarding skin gambling and other similar practices to do with CS:GO. It’s no longer allowed.

Following the recent controversy which has seen two millionaires stealing money from children, many companies and names within gaming are doing their best to distance themsleves from any possible backlash.

Reiterating what is already laid out in their TOS, but is still flaunted by some streamers, Twitch said:

“As such, content in which the broadcaster uses or promotes services that violate Valve’s stated restrictions is prohibited on Twitch.”

Valve most recently denounced any relation to these gambling sites, particularly due to how they bastardise Steam’s open API, saying in a statement:

“We are going to start sending notices to these sites requesting they cease operations through Steam, and further pursue the matter as necessary. Users should probably consider this information as they manage their in-game item inventory and trade activity.”

So, there you go. Don’t expect to see any gibbering baboons livestreaming themselves opening their cases with real money for a cosmetic skin for an outdated game for too much longer. You can almost certainly bet that the industry won’t be worth the previously estimated $7.4 billion by the end of the year.
