Suicide Squad’s Extended Cut Still Has Missing Joker Scenes

If you ever want to see an example of a film that has been brutalised in the editing room, you need look no further than Suicide Squad. DC’s newest saunter into Hollywood was a film stuck between two minds about what it wanted to be, owing a lot to studio interference and conflicting ideas.

While the film has its merits, the general reception to Suicide Squad has been mixed. One of the biggest complaints was that, despite being a huge part of the film’s monstrous marketing campaign, Jared Leto’s Joker was barely involved. Shortly after its release, an extended cut for Suicide Squad was announced, alleging that it would add a lot more of Leto’s performance.

While it did add some new scenes, it appears as if there are still some missing as the DC subreddit has tracked down all of the lost pieces and stitched together an even bigger puzzle.

None of these scenes suggest a huge improvement on the movie as a whole, but the little moments, such as the part with the grenade, would have made a lot of sense to simply include. It also implies that there’s missing footage altogether, so who knows just how much will never see the light of day.

Suicide Squad was a big success at the box office and despite the occasional mauling from critics and fans, has plenty going for it. Check it out if you’re yet to so you can make up your own mind.
