Resident Evil 7: Could Sheva Alomar or Ada Wong Be Making a Return?

Resident Evil 7 has been something of a mystery to fans of the series for some time now. We don’t know a great deal about anything the game will entail, apart from a few basics, and January is fast approaching with us still pretty much in the dark.

It doesn’t help that Capcom’s annoying genius marketing strategy of drip feeding information drop by drop in the months since its reveal have been slim pickings at best, annoying misdirections at worst. I will never forgive them for that finger in the demo.

As they have been doing for a while now, Capcom just released a short teaser that leaves a couple of questions open.

Who is that voice? It would be easy to suggest Ada Wong as she always finds a way of slithering into a Resident Evil game, but there’s one less popular character who has been shunted to the sidelines since making her debut that would make more sense to bring back. Sheva Alomar, last seen as a playable character in the polarising Resident Evil 5.

While most fans might be crying out for a familiar face to return for Resi 7, I would personally prefer an all-new cast of characters, sort of as an antithesis to the overstuffed Resident Evil 6. Few came out of that game for the better, so starting afresh makes more sense and allows the series to grow past its roots.

If Wesker comes back, though, I will flip a table. The man needs to have a moon thrown at him to actually die.

Resident Evil 7 is out on January 24th 2017. You can pre-order it on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
