Radiohead Confirm Tease and Confirm Glastonbury Appearance in the Most Radiohead Way Possible

Following the release of A Moon Shaped Pool, Radiohead were always a strong contender for playing Glasto, and so it has turned out. Being who they are, though, they decided to tantalise everyone with a stunt that managed to somehow be cryptic and obvious all at the same time. On Wednesday, a small group of people were spotted daubing a huge symbol on the grass at Worthy Farm, just in front of the Pyramid Stage. Said symbol turned out to be the sweetly sinister Radiohead bear, making it clear to any seasoned Radiohead fan what was going on, as well as anyone who subsequently saw their seasoned Radiohead fan friend vanish in a noxious cloud of squee.

The confirmation arrived yesterday, the band are indeed headlining, making this their first Glasto performance in 6 years, following their secret set at the Parkly acoustic stage in 2011. The last time they played the Pyramid Stage was in 2003, and the band has changed pretty drastically since then. Other rumoured performers in 2017 include Lady GaGa, The Stone Roses, Diana Ross, Ed Sheeran, Kraftwerk and Fatboy Slim, but of course when the full lineup drops it’ll be utterly immense, regardless of which acts end up being confirmed.
