I don’t want to shame you if you haven’t played Overwatch yet, but you really should. It’s one of 2016’s best games and continues to delight and enrapture thousands across the world where other multiplayer games from this year have already died.

If you’re one of the unfortunate few who hasn’t yet played Blizzard’s new baby on console, next weekend gives you the perfect opportunity to do just that. It will be free for three and a half days from September 9th until the 12th.

There won’t be any restrictions within the free weekend – you have access to everything that buying players have. This means all 22 heroes and 13 maps will be yours to wreak havoc in, but Competitive Play is off-limits. As Blizzard explained:

For this free weekend, we’re making Overwatch’s full roster of 22 heroes and 13 maps available for play in a variety of modes, including Quick Play, Custom Games, and the latest Weekly Brawl. You’ll also be able to level up, earn Loot Boxes, and unlock different customization options via the Hero Gallery. If you like what you see and decide to buy Overwatch: Origins Edition, you’ll also get to keep whatever progress you made during the weekend. (Wicked!)

Finding the game is pretty straightforward on PS4. Just go to the PlaySation Store and search for Overwatch before selecting “Overwatch Free Weekend” from the results and the downloading. Xbox One users need to have Xbox Live if they want to access the event, but every other step is the same as PS4. The PS4 version is 9GB and the Xbox One version is 15GB.

If you have been avoiding the hype for the past few months, check out our review to see why it’s more than just bluster. Overwatch is one of the year’s most addictive games and features free DLC and plenty of variety despite the simplicity of its modes.
