The future of virtual reality finally becomes an actual reality in 2016 and it looks like prospective Xbox One owners might have something to look forward to.
When consumer copies of the Oculus are finally ready to be sold, they will come partnered with an Xbox One controller and surprising compatibility with Microsoft’s much-maligned beast. They will also come with a PC
adapter, as expected.
The announcement was made ahead of the company’s big E3 reveal by CEO Brendan Iribe who stated that the Oculus will be taking advantage of the console’s native operating system. Players will be able to immerse themselves in a home theater instead of launching directly into the game outright. You will also be able to preview the game without ever taking off your headset.
Alright, I will admit, I kind of want to pick up an Xbox again just to experience this, which is probably exactly the response Microsoft wanted from this partnership.
More details are expected to come during E3 when the complexion of the console war could change forever. The virtual ball is now very definitely in the courts of Sony and Nintendo.
That Oculus Rift looks like a lot of virtual fun! But the rift between you and God? That’s real. So take off your goggles and pick up a Bibl
