Here’s the Nintendo Switch’s Launch Line-up and 2017 Schedule

Breath of the Wild

They’ve been a little slow off the mark, but Nintendo have just confirmed the Switch’s launch line-up.

And it’s pretty okay. I can’t think of many consoles that have had a huge selection of stellar games available on day one, but not many have had the ace of a new Legend of Zelda game to call upon, either.

Nintendo Switch launch line-up

There will only be five games available on March 3rd:

– The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
– 1-2 Switch
– Super Bomberman R
– Skylanders Imaginators
– Just Dance 2017

Not exactly brimming with quality apart from the new adventure of Link, but you have to wonder how long other developers have been clued in on the Switch to actually be able to make games for it.

There are also a few due to come out in the same month without concrete release dates:

– SnipperClipper
– Fast RMX
– Has-Been Heroes

Okay, still warming up. Slow and steady. It gets better on April 8th when Mario Kart 8 Deluxe drops and then the floodgates open up again in spring:

– Arms
– Disgaea 5 Complete
– Puyo Puyo Tetris
– Rime

Summer will bring Splatoon 2, autumn gets Dragonborn(ed) with Skyrim, and Super Mario Odyssey drops over the Christmas period.

There are also plenty without solid 2017 release dates, including:

– Xenoblade Chronicles 2
– Ultra Street Fighter 2 The Final Challenge
– Minecraft
– EA Sports FIFA
– Sonic Mania
– I Am Setsuna
– Steep
– Syberia 3
– NBA 2K
– Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Previously announced titles, such as The Binding of Isaac and Fire Emblem Fates, weren’t included in the graphic, but that’s not to say that they won’t be out sometime in 2017.

Not exactly a powerhouse launch year for the Nintendo Switch, though it could be a lot worse. Their focus now has to be on getting third-party developers in who can produce original properties, not just remasters of older games.
