Call me crazy, but I think Deadpool could turn out to be the most interesting comic book movie to come out in a long, long time. It might be juvenile, but sometimes you just want to see a guy in a red onesie make dick jokes instead of watching The Incredible Hulk starefuck Black Widow, you know?
The new movie directed by Tim Miller and starring renaissance man Ryan Reynolds is slated for release in February 2016, meaning us nerds have a lot of waiting to do. Fox have luckily released some new images featuring Reynolds Deadpool, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Morena Baccarin as Copycat. We can expect a few more to trickle through until there is at least a proper trailer reveal.
In case you didn’t know, here is what Deadpool’s going to be about and in no way (hopefully) related to X-Men Origins: Wolverine:
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, ‘Deadpool’ tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
