20th Century Fox have treated film and video game enthusiasts alike with a second trailer for the highly anticipated ‘Assassin’s Creed’ adaptation starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard.

In this trailer, we are shown in far more detail what the film is going to entail and so far it seems promising. To the delight of those who have played the original games, we get to see the weapons, moves and ‘bleeding effect’ all from the source material. In addition, this new trailer also gives us a good look at the animus and the high tech Abstergo facility which seems like it will feature more prominently in the film than it did in the games.

From what we can make out story wise in the trailer, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) is a death row prisoner who is kidnapped by the shady Abstergo company, led by their illusive leader played by Jeremy Irons. Although it’s nice to get a good look at all the present day, borderline sci fi aspects of the film the real attraction of the film, and the games, are the phenomenal historical set pieces and thankfully we get a good look at the protagonist hopping around and stabbing necks amidst the Spanish Inquisition.

With only a few months to go before release, the promotional material promises everything from action to science fiction and with some great talent both on screen and behind the camera this should be one to look out for, regardless as to whether you are familiar with the games. Assassin’s Creed is released on December 21st.
