Mew is in Pokemon Go, But There’s a Catch (’em All)

Mew

As trainers across the world band together to catch all 150 original Pokemon, there’s been one question asked by a lot of people: where is Mew? Well, Mew is definitely in Pokemon Go, but a dig into the code reveals that they don’t have a Base Capture Rate, meaning that they’re likely only going to be available at special events.

Reports indicate that Mew will be a “Mythical” Pokemon, which basically means that they are very rare. Mewtwo has already been discovered in the game along with a whole host of other Mythical Pokemon. A look at the stats reveals that Mew will be extremely powerful, third in Max CP behind Dragonite and Mewtwo and 11th in terms of Max HP.

Niantic have been very smart to keep Mew restricted to only a select few, making it even more desirable and driving people to go to special events, just like San Diego Comic-Con, where Pokemon Go will have a special presentation. Perhaps we might see Mew there, or even learn more about Legendary Pokemon found in the game’s code, such as Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo.

Or MissingNo.
