Memories of Green #23

The penultimate episode of Memories of Green and it is a stunner.

There’s something going down in Main Commericial. Just down the street from the hotel, some crazy guy has holed himself up in one of the empty department stores and has been taking potshots at C.P through a window for the last ten minutes. Its pretty nuts down on the street, this guy is just gunning down officers left right and centre, taking them out one by one. I’ve never seen so many officers in one place. I can even see some of those military gunships weaving in and out of the streets, trying to get closer to this guy, trying to take him out. I guess I should be down on the street watching this all unfold, but I really cant be bothered to get changed. They’ll probably take out this crazy before I can even get to the street. I guess I’m a journalist right? May as well report this to you guys as it happens.

This guy is really going for it, he’s just switched to full auto, C.P haven’t even got time to fire back, they’re just being knocked over the bonnets of cars, through windows. That must be some rifle he has there. I can see more gunships coming over the buildings in the distance, they must be flying these right off the production lines in the industrial sectors. I guess in Washington they don’t have to deal with these kind of things very often. This guy must be a fucking nut.

There’s a big crowd gathering now, they’re far too close to the gunfire. Jesus Christ, some of them are getting cut down in the crossfire. They’re just getting shot to pieces, both by the guy and civil protection. C.P don’t even seem to care that they’re shooting down their own people. This is a fucking bloodbath.

Some of the crowd are starting to attack C.P now. I can see C.P just throwing them to the ground, beating them while they’re on the floor. Its almost like C.P are more focussed on fighting back the crowd than the guy in the department store. More and more C.P are pouring out of APCs that are turning up on the streets. Gunships are sweeping over the buildings. I think theres one over the hotel. This place has turned into a total warzone.

C.P just broke through the gunfire and into the department store. About twenty of them just burst through the front door while there was a break in rifle fire. The windows of the building are lighting up with gunfire. Glass just smashed out of the ground floor windows and mannequins flew rigidly onto the street, guess they’ve even brought grenades. Cant say I blame them, with the chaos going on outside. There must be hundreds of people on the street, half of them just openly attacking C.P. I swear I saw one of the officers push a woman to the ground and shoot her to death a second ago. This is awful, I’ve never seen anything like this. I really hope thi

The Cypher building just went up, what the fuck. Explosion tore through the entire building. Its like a bonfire. I can see it from my window. Oh my god.

The streets are all quiet now, everything is quiet. No one is moving down there, there’s no more gunfire, no more yelling, even the gunships and police sirens seem to have stopped. As soon as the Cypher building lit up everyone just fell silent. We’re all watching it burn now. I can see other people watching it from their windows. Standing on rooftops just to get a look at the thing burning. You can see smouldering pieces of twisted metal reaching into the sky. The whole thing looks like it could come down at any time. That explosion ripped the whole thing apart, blew all the glass out, the tower is a husk.

I think C.P are making their move on that guy while the silence lasts. I can see gunfire lighting up the window the guy was firing out of. I think they got him. He must have been part of something bigger, that explosion was no coincid

Another explosion just ripped the rest of Cypher apart. Oh Jesus Christ, oh fuck me. I can see it falling in on itself, it cant hold itself under its own weight. People on the street are filming it on their phones. What are they doing?! Start running, now. Oh my god its coming down, its all coming down, sinking down and turning into dust, vaporising mid air. Sirens just started coming from all over the place. Streets are filling with Cyphers dust. Fuck me. What is going on?

The streets are going crazy, that dust cloud shook the entire hotel. People are flooding the roads, pushing through C.P, smashing shop windows. Its fucking chaos down there, everything is out of control. Gunships are filling up the sky, and I cant even see the street through all the people running through it. I can see the lights of fire crews in the distance. They must be looking to see if there’s anything of Cypher they can save. There’s no hope. The entire thing went down, that whole sector must be ash by now. APCs are blocking the roads. The crowds seem to be calming down. Gunships are shining searchlights onto them and shouting comply or be pacified through their loudspeakers. How many people are dead?

I just got a knock at my door, one of the other guys staying here said C.P are locking down the whole city. They’re searching everywhere in Main Commercial and the hotel is up next. We all have to pack our essentials, evacuate and join the crowds on the street. I don’t know where we’re being moved but I have to go. They’ll probably shoot me if I stay. I’ll submit this now so you can all see what went down tonight. Hopefully I’ll be able to post more from the streets on my phone. May be microblogs though so I may have to spam you with 140 character updates from here on in. I really have to go. Black Ops teams have just started searching the lobby. I’ll post as soon as I can.
