So, that trailer for The Defenders, then? Not so much a trailer as a ‘remember we’re still doing this pretty soon’ attention grabber, it’s apparently still got the internet wetting its collective pants. The bigger news here though, is probably Marvel’s confirmation that the team up mini-series will be with us at some point in 2017.

This one might also confirm that sticking an iconic rock track over a superhero trailer has quickly become one of 2016’s small contributions to pop culture. If Marvel think Nirvana’s Come as You Are is going to get this teaser over as much as Queen did for the Suicide Squad trailer though, they’ll probably be disappointed. Outside of the song, there really wasn’t anything to this clip.

Oh, except for Scott Glenn as Stick (Daredevil’s old fighting teacher) giving the team the world’s worst pep talk. ‘You can’t even save yourselves,’ he grumbles like the sociopathic old man he is. Ah, Stick, we’re glad you’re going to be involved in this thing somewhere.

Will we get The Defenders before we get Iron Fist, though? The original plan calls for Iron Fist to land on Netflix first, which hints that Danny Rand will be hitting our screens at some point in 2017 as well. Along with three feature films, that sounds like a busy year for Marvel.
