Here’s Your First Look at Marvel & Netflix’s The Punisher TV Show

Just in case you didn’t know, the best actor to portray The Punisher on-screen is Jon Bernthal. It’s a close competition between he and Thomas Jane, who starred in the 2004 film, but Bernthal’s intensity and humanity made him a fan favourite and effectively buoyed what was a very inconsistent second season of Daredevil.

Following rave reviews, it shouldn’t have surprised anyone to learn that Marvel and Netflix were commissioning a standalone series for the character.

The working title is Crime, according to rumours, and will probably be out long before The Defenders, especially when you consider the series has already started shooting and Iron Fist is still yet to properly wrap. Courtesy of Just Jared, here are some set photos for the new series, which might arrive before the end of 2017.

It’s hardly much to go off, so your guess is as good as mine. The Frank Castle we see at the end of season 2 of Daredevil seems to have found redemption and some kind of peace, so it looks like this could be set at an earlier time. Something something penny and dime.

Marvel’s Netflix TV shows are really starting to come into their own. Daredevil kicked things off in style with the success of that show giving the greenlight for them to commission Jessica Jones and Netflix’s newest addition, Luke Cage. We’re big fans of both, so here’s hoping The Punisher gets the same treatment.

Excited? Absolutely meh? Drop a thought below.
