Gigantic Sale on Planet of the Apes Comics Ending Tonight

I’ll admit that I’d much rather live on a planet populated by warring primates than on one with Donald Trump as President. I’m pretty sure that gorillas wouldn’t choose to deliberately kill the innocent families of their suspected enemies like Trump said he wants to do.

Anyway, if you want something to distract yourself from how the childlike monster is gonna destroy the world as we know it, then head over to ComiXology to check out their huge sale on publisher BOOM! Studios’ Planet of the Apes comics.

Written by Daryl Gregory and illustrated by Carlos Magno, the core comic series, which is simply called Planet of the Apes, ran from 2011 to 2013. The first story arc, which was titled The Long War, will be a great starting off point for newcomers because it gives us a strong introduction to the political machinations of a world governed by an uneasy alliance of gorillas, orangutans, and chimpanzees before the arrival of the three astronauts changed everything. Spinoffs included Cataclysm, in which Doctor Zaius must fight to uphold order after the world is rocked by a cataclysmic event, and Exile, which chronicled a failed human rebellion in a society where humans lack the ability to speak and are considered to be nothing more than animals.

The sale ends tonight at midnight, so don’t waste any time getting your dirty paws on these. If the books leave you going ape for more Planet of the Apes (sorry), keep in mind that War for the Planet of the Apes will arrive in cinemas on July 14, 2017, and will be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.
