In the unlikely event that you aren’t drowning in option during this ridiculously busy period for video games and have yet to play the yearly release of simulated football, FIFA 17 will be coming to Xbox One and PS4 for free during this weekend.

From November 24th to the 28th, players can enjoy all aspects of the game, but are limited to just a portion of the narrative-driven The Journey, which happens to feature one of the biggest bastards in gaming. Any progress made during the FIFA free trial will carry over if you purchase the full game.

If you’re interested in playing FIFA 17 at a discount price, Black Friday means that a deal won’t be far away. It’s still full price on Amazon and other retailers, but is knocked down a little on the consoles’ digital stores, which is something you won’t see often.

We gave FIFA 17 an 8/10 in our review, complementing the variety of content but bemoaning the lack of change elsewhere:

“FIFA 17 is the bravest FIFA to date but also one of the most conservative. With the introduction of a single-player narrative, it’s clear that they aren’t resting on their laurels and waiting for the FUT money to roll in, but are trying to once again lead a footballing revolution, just like they did when they wrestled the crown from PES all those years ago. Gameplay itself, though, still isn’t quite as fluid or as satisfying as it should be, but don’t write them off from making something truly wonderful next year. All the ingredients are there, it’s just about how EA Sports cook it.”
