After teasing us like a dog wearing a bowtie, we finally have a proper look at Ryan Reynolds’ renaissance piece and boy, does it look juicy. As much as people bemoan Fox’s grip on several Marvel licenses, it’s hugely doubtful that Disney would allow such naughtiness in their own adaptation. Hearing Deadpool say ‘heck’ and kiss all the princesses doesn’t feel quite close enough to the source material.
The synopsis:
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
If this doesn’t turn to be a thoroughly excellent swearfest, the chimichangas are on us. Deadpool drops in 2016.
