Daniel Craig Reportedly Offered $150 Million to Reprise James Bond Role

It seems that Daniel Craig quite dramatically revealing that he would prefer to slit his wrists rather than return as James Bond isn’t a definitive enough answer for Sony.

According to Radar, they want him to come back to his most iconic role for $150 million over two movies that will be shot back-to-back. This is $50 million more than what they initially offered, so it looks like they’re banking a lot on Craig’s familiarity with the tuxedo to sell some tickets.

Radar’s source claims:

“Everyone knows how much executives adore him, and the idea of losing him at such a crucial time in the franchise isn’t an option as far as all the studio honchos are concerned.”

Tom Hiddleston is the name being touted as Craig’s eventual replacement and is a name that would make a lot of sense. However, if the rumours are to be believed, it could be too early for him to take up the mantle as there are still some threads left to tie up in Craig’s Bond.

This seems more to be about personal choice rather than anything to do with money, and even though it’s an absurd amount, it might not be enough to bring Craig back around.
