Lest we forget they exist (not likely) Marvel just dropped their first proper trailer for Captain America: Civil War. The teaser first aired Tuesday night on Jimmy Kimmel, but has been released onto Youtube to satisfy the rabid hunger of Marvel’s many lustful super fans.
So what’s happening here? Well, Captain America’s old pal Bucky Barnes (the Winter Soldier guy from, ahem, The Winter Soldier) is in a bit of trouble. Turns out a lot of important government folk want him captured or killed, including Iron Man. There’s some deeper stuff about whether superheroes should be regulated and how much oversight there should be too.
Let’s face it though, this movie is really an excuse to have Captain America and Iron Man fight it out like drunks in a car park. Not necessarily a bad thing of course, and from the trailer it looks like we’ll be getting the same solid action beats and fight scenes these movies always give us. Whether the story manages to be a bit less rushed or clunky than Avengers: Age of Ultron is another question.
Anyway, the trailer gives us glimpses of whole be siding with Captain America and who’ll be teaming with Iron Man. We get glimpses of Scarlett Witch (Team Cap) and even Black Panther (Team Iron), but it looks like everyone but Thor and Hulk will be showing up for this one. No sign of Spider-Man in this trailer though. It’s possible we won’t see anything from him before the movie hits cinemas on May 6 next year. Who knows.
